Media Release: Australians urged to unite under our iconic national flag

Australians are being encouraged to unite in celebration tomorrow as we stop to recognise our shared identity and heritage under the banner of the iconic Australian Flag.

Assistant Minister to the Prime Minister Senator the Hon. James McGrath said Saturday 3 September was National Flag Day – a day to reflect on our history, our future and the importance of our iconic national symbol.

“The Australian Flag is a symbol that garners respect, optimism and a shared sense of pride in our citizens here and around the world,” Senator McGrath said.

Media Release: Mayor of Pozières awarded honorary OAM

The Mayor of the French village of Pozières will today be presented an honorary Order of Australia at the commemoration service for the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Pozières.

Assistant Minister to the Prime Minister, Senator the Hon. James McGrath, said Bernard Delattre would receive an OAM for services to Australian French relations from Australian Ambassador to France Stephen Brady AO CVO.

Senator McGrath Slams ANZ for Toogoolawah Branch Closure Plan

Queensland LNP Senator and Assistant Minister to the Prime Minister the Hon. James McGrath has slammed a proposal to close Toogoolawah’s only bank saying the decision would leave the community without proper access to essential banking services.

Senator McGrath said the ANZ Bank had been operating in the community for 65 years and its closure would cause major inconvenience to customers and adversely impact the town.

It is a great honour to be a senator for Queensland, and it is a great honour to represent the people of Queensland, whether it is dealing with the yellow crazy ants of Far North Queensland or being the patron for the restoration of the World War II igloo on the Atherton Tablelands. It is a great honour, and the LNP carries the torch for all Queenslanders. You only have to look at our Senate team and the senators who represent the LNP to see that we are a diverse team with a lot of senators who bring skills and abilities to the table that are sadly missing in the Labor Party.
