McGrath Calls on Queensland Labor to Consider Crocodile Culls

Queensland LNP Senator James McGrath yesterday moved a motion in the Senate calling on the Queensland state Labor government to consider all options for the protection of human lives, including sustainable culls of crocodiles.

In a statement to the Senate, Senator McGrath noted the threat that crocodiles pose to humans, livestock and aquaculture in Central, North and Far North Queensland.

“Crocodiles are encroaching on regional and urban areas and posing a threat to humans, livestock and aquaculture,” Senator McGrath said.

“The priority of a government should always be to reduce the risk of injury or harm to humans.

“A sustainable crocodile cull should be considered by the Queensland state Labor government.

The motion was agreed to by the Senate.
