ANNOUNCEMENT OF SHADOW MINISTERIAL APPOINTMENT

The Coalition today welcomes the announcement of the Federal Government’s commitment to invest $3.435 billion into the

2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games infrastructure development, putting an end to months of speculation and rumours to the contrary.

Thanks to the strong leadership of the Crisafulli LNP state government, Queensland can finally focus on delivering a world-class games

with a lasting legacy that both Queenslanders and Australians alike can be proud of.

“We are very pleased to see the Federal Government finally commit to a fair funding agreement for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games

Infrastructure Development,” said the Shadow Minister for 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Senator James McGrath.

“It is a testament to the leadership and strength of both Premier Crisafulli and Deputy Premier Bleijie, that they have

secured a reallocation of funding towards a new world-class stadium and minor venues program whilst also ensuring better

value for money for taxpayers through their ability to work with the private sector to build the new Brisbane Live Arena at a fraction of the price.

“The 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games is something that will be celebrated by all Queenslanders and all Australians

whilst also creating a lasting legacy through state-of-the-art infrastructure both in the cities and regional and rural communities alike.”
